"SIS LIKE ME"

About SIS LIKE ME Program

A safe space for young girls and teen women to grow, connect, and be inspired.
The Sis Like Me Mentorship Program provides guidance, sisterhood, and support to help young women navigate personal and professional challenges.

We focus on:

  • Confidence Building – Encouraging self-esteem and self-worth through workshops and community engagement.
     
  • Career & Life Readiness – Preparing young women for success through goal setting, financial literacy, and personal development.
     
  • Positive Role Models – Connecting mentees with accomplished women who have walked similar paths and can help guide them forward.
     

Our goal is to show every girl that she can rise above her circumstances—and thrive.

🌸 Lil’ Sis Circle (Ages 13–14 – Middle School)

Focus: Confidence, Character, and Curiosity

The Lil’ Sis Circle is where the sisterhood begins. This group helps middle school girls navigate early adolescence with confidence and self-love. Mentorship in this stage focuses on building a positive self-image, understanding friendships, developing healthy communication skills, and exploring interests and talents. Through fun, interactive workshops and team-building activities, each “Lil’ Sis” learns the value of sisterhood, respect, and believing in her potential.

  • Building self-esteem and identity
     
  • Emotional intelligence and communication
     
  • Healthy friendships and boundaries
     
  • Introduction to goal-setting and leadership

💫 Glow Sistas (Ages 15–18 – High School)

Focus: Leadership, Life Skills, and Vision

The Glow Sistas represent young women in their glow-up era — discovering their voices, passions, and power. This group focuses on leadership development, academic and career readiness, and making positive choices. Mentors guide girls through high school challenges while preparing them for their next chapter in college, career, or entrepreneurship. The emphasis is on personal growth, resilience, and purpose — helping each girl shine brightly in her journey.

  • Leadership and empowerment training
     
  • Academic success and college/career prep
     
  • Self-advocacy and confidence in decision-making
     
  • Community engagement and service
     

🌺 Thrive Sistas (Ages 19–23 – Young Women)

Focus: Empowerment, Purpose, and Legacy

The Thrive Sistas are young women stepping into adulthood with confidence and direction. This group focuses on professional development, personal wellness, and giving back through mentorship. Members receive guidance on career planning, financial literacy, healthy relationships, and self-care while strengthening their roles as leaders and mentors for the next generation of “Sistas.” The goal is to ensure every woman not only survives but thrives — living a life of purpose and impact.

  • Mental health and wellness
     
  • Professional networking and mentorship
     
  • Leadership and community impact

💕 General Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for participation, applicants must:

  1. Meet Age and Group Criteria
     
    • Lil’ Sis Circle: Ages 13–14 (Middle School)
       
    • Glow Sistas: Ages 15–18 (High School)
       
    • Thrive Sistas: Ages 19–23 (College or Early Career)
       

  1. Be Enrolled in School or a Postsecondary Program
    Participants must be currently enrolled in school, college, trade school, or a workforce development program.
     
  2. Demonstrate Commitment to Growth
    Applicants should display a genuine interest in self-improvement, community involvement, and leadership development.
     
  3. Complete the Online Application
    Every applicant must complete the official Sis Like Me application form, which includes short essay questions about personal goals and motivation.
     
  4. Provide Required Documentation
    Applicants must submit the following materials at the time of application:
     
    • Most recent report card or transcript (showing satisfactory academic standing — minimum GPA of 2.5 recommended, though exceptions may be made for effort and improvement).
       
    • One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, community leader, or mentor.
       
    • Parental/guardian consent form (for applicants under 18).
       
    • Personal statement (250–500 words) describing what “Sis Like Me” means to you and how mentorship could help you reach your goals.
       

  1. Participate in an Interview
    Selected applicants will be invited to a brief interview (virtual or in person) to discuss their goals, interests, and readiness for the mentorship experience.

💫 Program Expectations for Accepted Participants

Once accepted, Sis Like Me members are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled mentorship meetings, workshops, and community service events.
     
  • Maintain respectful and professional conduct in all interactions.
     
  • Uphold a minimum 2.5 GPA (for student participants).
     
  • Demonstrate consistent effort, accountability, and communication with mentors and program staff.
     
  • Represent the Sis Like Me brand with pride, positivity, and purpose.

Applicants are evaluated holistically based on:

  • Motivation and enthusiasm for personal development
     
  • Leadership potential and community involvement
     
  • Academic effort and integrity
     
  • Ability to commit time and energy to the program
     
  • Alignment with the Sis Like Me mission and values

🌺 Thrive Sistas ENTREPRENEURSHIP Mentorship Experience

Empowering Young Women Through Entrepreneurial Mentorship

The Thrive Sistas Mentorship Program connects ambitious young women ages 19–23 with established women entrepreneurs and professionals who are passionate about giving back. Through this one-on-one mentorship experience, we bridge the gap between education and empowerment — guiding young women as they navigate career, confidence, and community impact.

This program is designed to cultivate leadership, professionalism, and purpose by pairing each Thrive Sista with a mentor who reflects the values of hard work, authenticity, and success. Together, mentors and mentees engage in meaningful conversations, goal-setting sessions, and professional development opportunities that nurture both personal growth and career readiness.

💼 How the Mentorship Pairing Works

Each Thrive Sista is carefully matched with a mentor based on her career interests, personal goals, and area of study or passion. Before being paired, participants complete a brief profile and participate in an interview process to ensure a meaningful and mutually beneficial connection.

Mentorships typically last six to twelve months, during which pairs meet at least once per month (virtually or in person) for coaching, accountability, and support. The “Sis Like Me” Foundation provides structured resources, such as monthly discussion topics, professional development activities, and networking events to enhance the mentorship experience.

🤝 Expectations for Mentees (Thrive Sistas)

As a Thrive Sista, your role is to show up ready to grow, learn, and take initiative.
Mentees are expected to:

  1. Commit to Consistency – Attend all scheduled mentorship sessions, respond promptly to communication, and actively engage throughout the mentorship term.
     
  2. Set and Pursue Goals – Work with your mentor to establish personal, academic, and career goals — and take responsibility for progress.
     
  3. Demonstrate Professionalism – Maintain respect, punctuality, and a positive attitude in all interactions, both with your mentor and fellow program participants.
     
  4. Embrace Accountability – Be open to constructive feedback, honest reflection, and continuous improvement.
     
  5. Uphold the “Sis Like Me” Standard – Represent the foundation with integrity, kindness, and leadership in every space you occupy.

👩🏽‍💼 Expectations for Mentors (Entrepreneur Women Mentors)

Mentors are the heartbeat of the Thrive Sistas experience. Their wisdom, guidance, and encouragement help shape the next generation of women leaders.

Mentors are expected to:

  1. Commit to the Relationship – Dedicate time each month to meet with your mentee, either virtually or in person, and maintain consistent communication.
     
  2. Model Leadership and Integrity – Lead by example, upholding the values of professionalism, compassion, and authenticity.
     
  3. Provide Guidance and Opportunities – Offer career insight, networking connections, and real-world advice to help mentees navigate their paths.
     
  4. Encourage Independence – Empower mentees to make decisions, solve problems, and develop their own confidence and leadership skills.
     
  5. Maintain Confidentiality – Protect the trust and privacy of your mentee at all times.

📜 Program Rules and Standards

To ensure a safe, respectful, and empowering experience for all, both mentors and mentees must agree to the following standards:

  • Respect and Professionalism: All interactions must reflect mutual respect, honesty, and professionalism.
     
  • Confidentiality: Conversations within the mentorship are private and may not be shared without consent.
     
  • Commitment: Both parties must honor their six- to twelve-month commitment and communicate promptly if challenges arise.
     
  • Zero Tolerance Policy: Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will result in immediate removal from the program.
     
  • Accountability: Participants must engage fully in required workshops, meetings, and evaluations provided by the “Sis Like Me” Foundation.
     
  • Empowerment First: Every conversation, activity, and engagement must reinforce the core mission — empowering women to thrive with purpose, confidence, and community.

At its heart, this mentorship is more than a professional relationship — it’s a bond built on sisterhood, trust, and shared ambition. The Thrive Sistas Mentorship Program is where young women learn not just to follow in another woman’s footsteps, but to walk boldly in their own — guided by someone who’s been there and believes they can go even further.
